Alan's funeral was held on Thursday 19th December at the Weston Mill Crematorium in Plymouth

Around 21 past and present  drivers and guards  made  the  500 mile round trip
to  Plymouth. Though it took a few  a little longer than others  to  get home having found  themselves accidently  in some  of Alberts favourite local pubs!  It was after all 'Curry night' so it only seemed right to spend it where he would have.

We were all made to feel very welcome by Alan's family who also arranged the memorial service in Murston for those who wanted to pay their respects locally.
The All Saints church was completely full for this as was the Woodcombe Club after. A few of us then went for a curry in Faversham as Albert would have wanted.

But we couldnt let it it end there...
So at the beginning of 2014 Comrade Grudd set up the top secret group R.A.M.B.O (Royal Albert Memorial Beer Outings)

The idea was to keep the memory of Albert alive by basically do the things he enjoyed so much. Mainly drinking beer and eating curry's (we even have a bowl of Alan's favourite Phall brought out at every meal!).

These events began with a wander around Canterbury to celebrate Alberts birthday on the 3rd March 2014.
more to come.....
